Kenan is a queer junior graphic designer looking to make brand identities and visual systems more human.
Initially exploring and learning about brand and identity design, Kenan was interested in learning and creating designs around a message, idea, purpose, and connection to a target audience. He wanted to create work that connected with people and looked at this relationship between people and design. This developed to the current day, where Kenan is developing his process to create human design — a type of design that prioritizes human thoughts, feelings, and emotions first over basic design principles. His current series, “i am not ___,” exemplifies how Kenan initially reacts to personal topics, undergoing heavy research and creating a design system from a subjective yet reflective perspective. His design values are to grow and learn continuously, never fear experimentation and play, and to work hard and stay humble. While graphic design is one of Kenan’s passions, creativity is constantly flowing as he is taking an interest in traditional media and potentially sewing.
